I'm in the San Joquin Valley of California and here I've had great success with **calendula, nasturtium, and snapdragon through the winter.  In past winters, the black-eyed susan bloomed through the heavy frosts.  One of Ben's favorites, I felt it was God's way of letting me know Ben is still with us.

I have a story about nasturtium I'll share in the near future.

March flowers are Daffodil, Jonquil
April flowers are Daisy, Sweet Pea

Plant outside seed of wildflowers, frost tolerant perennials such as veronica, columbine, heuchera, delphinium. Plant summer bulbs: dahlias, dannas, gladiolas (at 2 week intervals), etc.

Set out plants of cantebury bells, forget-me-nots, foxglove, pansies, primula, & scented geraniums.

The Flower Promotion Organization has flower recipes, offering great ideas in arranging your flowers for every day, for every occasion.
